Boastie in Daytona

UK and Euro champion Boastie (below with Sammy Halbert - sporting his Sideburn Indian Girl shirt) is back from another trip racing in America. This time he had a blast on the half-mile at Volusia, but when he got to Daytona he highsided in practice and beat himself up. The problem, he reckons, was the controversial (dumb?) rule introduced last year that forces GNC singles and Pro Singles 450 machines to use stock upside-down forks. The stanchions on these are so thick they seriously limit the lock of the bike. Boastie got crossed up on the slick track, the back came around, but he couldn't turn into it like he does with his UK RMZ450 (that has Yam R6 RWU forks) and it spat him over the high side. He tried to ride the next night but was hurting too much.
If it was easy, we'd all be doing it.

Still, he has some great stories of meeting racers from all over the world all trying to do the same thing as him. Boastie really is a hero. GI
